It appears that a storm last night ate Charlie, my pc. I can't get him to boot, and everything Akashik, Heavenly Bride, and 10 Confessions (as well as other projects) is tucked onto his slave drive. In short, I'm screwed.

Getting a new one that can do the things he did and/or putting him into a shop that will end up saying, "gotta reformat" is financially out of the question... so it looks like after the current scheduled updates the comics I run will not be updating for a while. Using my notebook (for work) I can still surf the web, update the news, and run the contests. I just can't do the things that constitute a finished webcomic page.

If it's one thing, it's another huh.

I'm very sorry for the news. Maybe things will turn around the way they tend to do. I certainly intend to keep trying to boot Charlie, but at this point in time the problem is pointing to a major hardware error.

It is I, Death, and I have returned from OMGcon... a little early. A large part of that is due to the fact that I've been under the weather for over a week... and I just wasn't feeling it. So I left Pestilence the table to herself so that she could sell her little bath fizzies (called Soap Tropes, and findable on etsy.com) and she was actually starting to do well when I drove away. Good for her.

I didn't report on the last con because I'm lazy, but I thought perhaps I would report on this one. It was full of some really colorful people.

You will have to click on each image to see it right or something. I don't know why some are sideways. This might be why I didn't update last time.

So first we start with me in my new costume: it's the beginning of a steampunk venture... a clockwork scientist. But I didn't take a pic at the con so you'll have to settle for one from Chattanooga that I took for my husband.

And that's what I looked like behind the table. As I sat there. Observing. And saw things like this:

(Above) And then along came a handsome prince... but he wasn't mine. Mine is in Afghanistan. =^-^= Although now that I think of it, Mr. Persia here was at least dressed for the part.

What a short weekend, what a con! The best part was showing unsuspecting readers the back of issue 5 where lurks War's "Yaoi Puppet Theatre" comic. It was a lot of fun watching people laugh out loud.

It isn't much of an update change, but I'm going to model it on how I do 10 Confessions.

Currently, Heavenly Bride updates on Fridays only. What I am going to do is post it now on Fridays and *sometimes* Mondays. I won't guarantee which Mondays, but I'm going to shoot for that. I say "sometimes" so that if I fail to do so very often, there won't be any broken promises. I'm rather funny about that.

Mainly I'm doing this because Heavenly Bride is just updating too slowly for me. The script has changed and grown in the past couple of years since I began writing it, and where once it was ten chapters it's closing onto twenty. I'm willing to admit that I think they're good chapters, mind you ... they're going to include such things as a race (or two), jealousy, a kick in the face, and ye olde sickness trope. The best part is that I haven't chosen any tropes or scenarios for the sake of following some model. It has grown beyond the original "spiritual gift" due to inspiration and character life - all this while Lhung comes to terms with his own feelings and the world around him. It's fun when a story does that. I'm wanting to update more often so that you can have fun with it, too.

What's neat is that when I first conceived this story, I thought it was about personal spiritual growth. Now I'm coming to see that it's about being saved by love... and that's for more than Lhung. 'Nuff said.

I will be making an appearance at OMGcon this weekend. As mentioned before, I had hoped to have HB in print for it... but with the printer problems and delays that's not possible. However, I am seeing this as a silver lining. Currently you can get HB in pdf format at http://comics.drivethrustuff.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=3067 (you have to be logged in and over 18 to see the HB books). I am thinking of not offering Heavenly Bride in print until I have four chapters and can put them out in a "manga" digest version. I just prefer my manga that way.

So pups o'the bride.. I need to ask. Are you voting for Heavenly Bride and showing your support? It would be really nice if you guys would post in the forum and tell me what you think... vote... supporting your local webcomic is about more than donations. And although donations would be really nice. (I gotta pay for the paper and ink, wot...)... I also enjoy hearing from you guys. So please don't be afraid to speak up!

Ah well. Back to the drawing board. Until later.
