Looking at the battle of good vs. evil through the eyes of the evil minions has become all the rage these days. We have those adorable dead and alive butterfly minions from The Venture Brothers. We have Minions for Hire… and another little gem I enjoy from time to time, Minion Comics.

What I liked the most about this one, the point that actually drew me in, was our main guy became an evil minion because he didn’t really have a choice financially. He had a clean record, for the most part, but was guilty of one act of stupidity. Just one. No one would hire him, no matter the job or how low he was willing to go. What are you going to do when you’re trying to learn from your mistake but society won’t give you that chance? What else?

It’s quirky, definitely adult, and the artwork is superb. Here, take a peek:

And on to other news: 10 Confessions & a Kiss. Main website has received a small revamp: http://10confessions.com – nothing major. It’s not for free on the web anymore, so it’s not like there’s anything going on over there besides the remaining fund drive and an RSS of this blog. But it’s prettier. I like pretty. 🙂

My plan with 10 is that when it’s completely done, then I’ll put it for free again. So I have to finish the tale first. In the meantime it will be available through e-book sources and whatever else I can do. That will help fund things so I can keep going. (It takes money to live after all.)  But. One thing atta time.

As a small note: the Paypal scene has been augmented with Alertpay and WePay. I can’t vouche how good WePay is yet, but they did answer an issue I had immediately when I emailed them. That’s a big plus. Hrm. And Paypal isn’t holding any payments I may have gotten for work 2 days in a row. So maybe my email to them worked as well. In either case, we carry on. Positively, if we can.

The Arteest

I’ve mentioned The Arteest before in the old news area for Akashik. It’s time it got the review it deserves, so why not here and now? Why so. Oh well. Anyway…

The Arteest is narrated by a man just coming out of a coma. We begin with his memories and life in the dark behind the lids. Crayon imagery scatters across the panels, giving things a unique play with the words and feelings. And then he opens his eyes – to a nightmare.

But is the nightmare real?

The Arteest hasn’t been out long enough for me to know that yet.  Engineered by Bill Nichols and Robin Ator, it’s a feast for those that hunger for something a little different.  For example, here is a strip from it (if I can get this to work):

On another note, things are slow for the updates still because, well, I’m still sick. And behind with my work as a result. I finally consented to see the base dr. Who took one look in my left ear and proceeded to explain that my eardrum no longer had air behind it and was very “concave” because of a “dysfunctional” tube, and basically now I have this image of my eardrum trying to implode on itself. Soon the rest of me will slowly suck into the singular anomaly, I’m sure.

At least the problem has been pinpointed, or at the very least a symptom of the problem. Hopefully I’ll be more up to speed soon. Hang in there with me!

The 10 Confessions support drive at Kickstarter ended the other day. It was the minimum amount I had put down, but 10 Confessions can still be produced with this. I just have to work harder at it. And finally for those that follow Heavenly Bride, if you didn’t know it already I’m going to repeat myself: I finally settled down on the next wallpaper design. Here’s a small sketch of it. Don’t be afraid to give me feedback, thoughts, I dunno.
